LinkedInResearch into work and digital tools
We’re speaking with people at building‑product companies about how work gets done, what works well, and what gets in the way.
Who we are
We’re Simone and Kyle. We started Material Fact to explore how research and design could better support building‑product companies. We’re beginning with conversations like these.
What we’re asking
We’re interested in the processes you know well: what runs smoothly, where things get complicated, and how your team decides what to improve. A process you’ve improved, a system you’ve introduced, or a project that proved harder than expected is a good place to start. We’d like to understand where software helps and where it falls short.
Who we’d like to speak with
We’re speaking with people at building‑material and construction‑product companies. You might recognize yourself in one or more of these:
You work with product information, specifications, quotes, orders, production, or technical support.
You lead a team and see how work moves between people, departments, and systems.
You help choose, manage, or improve the digital tools your company uses.
What you’ll receive
We’ll share a short research brief with participants, bringing together common challenges, useful approaches, and questions that emerge from the conversations. You’re welcome to share it with your team. The brief will not identify participants or their companies.
Common questions
No. We’re interested in work you already know well. There’s nothing to read beforehand and nothing to bring.
People who understand how work actually gets done inside building-product companies. You don’t need to work in software or have a particular title.
We’re looking for patterns across many conversations. The research brief will not identify you, your company, or your colleagues.
No. This is independent research. We’re asking for 30 minutes of your time and nothing more.
Absolutely. Feel free to forward this page or introduce us to someone you think we should speak with.
